The AAU Strength Sports National Executive Committee will accept nominations April 1 through May 30, 2017, for the 2017 Academic All-American list.
The title of AAU Strength Sports Academic All-American is an honorary title bestowed upon Elementary, Middle and High School strength sports athletes who 1) maintain a high academic standing and who participate in at least one AAU Strength Sport (Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Feats of Strength or Allsports Combine). An annual list of AAU Strength Sports Academic All-Americans will be published on the AAU Strength Sports website, and if available, will be acknowledged at the annual AAU Junior Olympic Games. Athletes receiving this honor will typically referred to as, "Strength Sports Academic All-Americans."
Nominations for Academic All-American recognition is specifically for the 2016-2017 academic school year. Athletes nominated must have participated in at least one strength sports meet in 2016-2017, and must have demonstrated excellent academic achievement. Coaches or parents should complete the fillable pdf here, print, sign, scan, and email the nomination form, with any supporting material, to aaustrengthsports@yahoo.com, cc'ing doug1_dms@yahoo.com and bayoustatebarbell@gmail.com.
All nomination packages MUST be received by May 30, 2017, for the athlete to be considered for the 2016-2017 academic year.
