Tech Valley Box Lacrosse is offering a summer program featuring youth box lacrosse! This program will consist of eight games and optional practice opportunitires to develop and learn box lacrosse skills. Registration requests will be accepted through MAY 25th at www.techvalleyboxlax.com. League play will begin in early June and will conclude in late July for youth ranging from 8U to 17U teams. The cost to participate is $130 per player, which includes insurance, eight games and a jersey.
Games will take place at local area ice rinks, such as Albany Academy, Union College and others in the surrounding area. There will be one game per week on Monday or Wednesday evenings, with optional practice time available. The league will begin with a rules clinic/practice to help players understand how box lacrosse and field lacrosse differ. Full equipment is required of ALL players and goalie equipment will be provided for league use.
Box lacrosse is a great way to develop your skills! The playing area is smaller, making the game fast-paced. Passes and shots have to be more accurate, positioning needs to be more defined and defensive moves are a must. Each player will get to touch the ball more and there’s more contact in box lacrosse so physical toughness is developed.
